Top 7 mobile apps for immigrants

Every year approximately three hundred thousands come to Canada. Being new to the country, most immigrants are tight on budget. In this post, I will list the top 7 mobile apps for immigrants based on my personal research.
Banking app
All major banks have mobile apps available for both Android and IOS. Install it as soon as you have a bank account. Do not forget to set up Multi-factor authentication. Check your bank’s website or walk-in to the closest branch to find out more details.
Google Maps
I live in Ontario. Even though I moved from New Zealand to Canada. In the beginning, most houses look the same to me. Most plazas have similar shops. It was extremely hard to travel initially. Thanks for the Google Maps app. On highways, I prefer using Waze which has updated information on incidents. It also offers a speedometer in the app which can notify you if your speed is higher than recommended.
Job Hunting
To make job hunting easier. I would highly recommend to install following apps
You might have an active LinkedIn profile. Installing the LinkedIn app is a good idea too. Try to find your old friends on LinkedIn and grow your network. This will definitely help you in job hunting. Update your profile regularly.
Indeed
I personally had a good response from Indeed. Once my profile was created, I was contacted by multiple recruiters. Installing Indeed helped me to schedule interviews and share my resume and contact details with recruiters and company was easy.

Flipp
Flipp is a digital flyer application. You can easily find the product you are looking for with a few clicks.
It is an essential app that brings you the latest weekly ads, deals, and coupons from more than 2000 of your favorite stores.

Office Lens/CamScanner
This might be optional but highly recommended. Recruiters would request you send a scanned copy of your passport or work permit whenever you apply for a job. This app will be handy for those situations. Both of these apps have functions to crop and align the document which is helpful to read.
Weather Network
This is one of my favorite and the most used app on my phone. Weather changes frequently. This app has in-built notifications to prompt you about rain, snow, storm, thunderstorms etc.
Fast food Coupons – Foupon
If you are foodie then Foupon app could you help you find deals and coupons on nearby restaurants.
