Sample letter of invitation for Canada

Due to covid-19 and never stopping variants most of us feel somewhat lonely and missing our families. I recently applied for my visitor visa for my parents and in-laws which was approved within a month. I will be sharing a sample letter of invitation for Canada immigration in this post.

Letter of invitation requirements from IRCC

You must include this information about the person you are inviting:

  • complete name,
  • date of birth,
  • address and telephone number,
  • your relationship to the person,
  • the purpose of the trip,
  • how long the person plans to stay in Canada,
  • where the person will stay, and how he or she will pay for things, and
  • when the person plans to leave Canada.

You must include this information about yourself:

  • complete name,
  • date of birth,
  • address and telephone number in Canada,
  • job title,
  • whether you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident,
  • a photocopy of a document proving your status in Canada, such as
    • a Canadian birth certificate, if you were born in Canada,
    • a Canadian citizenship card, if you are a naturalized citizen, or
    • a copy of your PR card or your IMM 1000 proof of landing, if you are a permanent resident,
  • details of your family, such as names and dates of birth of your spouse and dependants (this is mandatory for the parent and grandparent super visa), and
  • the total number of people living in your household, including people you sponsored whose sponsorship is still in effect (this is mandatory for the parent and grandparent super visa).

Subject: Invitation letter for (Name of visitor)

I (Name of Sponsor) stay at …. address……… I live with my wife and a daughter. I am a permanent resident of Canada.

I humbly request that you accept this letter of invitation for (Name of visitor) who lives in India. His/her address is ……………………My father is retired from Indian Military Services.

We usually go to India to visit my parents every two years. My daughter has an attachment with both grandparents whenever we visit them, and she would love to spend time with them during their visit to Canada. My parents are planning to visit Canada for three months and we will explore Ontario and other parts of GTA during summer break. We are planning to go to Niagara Falls, CN Tower, Toronto Zoo, Ripley’s Aquarium, Royal Ontario Museum, City Hall & Nathan Phillips Square, Ontario Science Centre and other major attractions in the GTA.

My wife and I will be taking full responsibility for all the expenses such as airfare ticket to/from Canada, accommodation (both will be staying with us), travel within Canada, food and any other necessities for the duration of their stay with us. We are aware and respect the temporary resident visa status and we offer our personal assurance that their visit to Canada will not exceed six months from the time of their arrival.
