What is Flagpole

Flagpole is for crossing US-Canada border without US Visa. As inland applicant, if you want to validate your PR at the boarder, you must leave Canada and return, in most of case, people just leave Canada by crossing Canada-US border. When you are at the US border gate, you tell the US officer that you want to flagpole, they will give you a piece of paper with ‘flagpole’ on that paper and let you return to Canada. When you return to Canada border gate with this piece of paper, the officer will ask for your documents, you give the officer the flagpole paper along with your passport, work permit, PR confirmation letter, telling the officer you want to process landing, the officer will send you to a CBSA officer to process landing.
